Belonging & Identity

Belonging and identity can feel complicated when you’ve grown up between cultures, expectations, and versions of yourself. Many third-culture kids and immigrants know the ache of feeling “too much” of one thing and “not enough” of another - never fully fitting in, yet belonging everywhere and nowhere at once. As an immigrant and an international student myself, I understand how disorienting and isolating that in-between space can feel, especially when you’re trying to make sense of who you are and where you come from.

In therapy, we explore these layers with care by understanding your roots, your story, the roles you’ve carried, the pressure you’ve inherited, and the parts of yourself you’ve had to silence just to adapt. Together, we untangle what truly belongs to you and what was placed on you, helping you develop a sense of identity that feels authentic, grounded, and self-defined. This process isn’t about choosing one culture over another; it’s about creating a sense of belonging that starts from within, and an identity that feels authentic and genuine to you.
