Music Psychotherapy
Music psychotherapy uses music; listening, creating, or reflecting on it as a pathway to explore emotions, reduce stress, and support healing. It can help you access parts of your inner world that feel hard to express with words, offering a gentle and creative way to process experiences and reconnect with yourself.
No music experience is required - only curiosity and openness. The focus is not what we create or achieve, but how the music helps you understand yourself, your relationships, and your own goals more clearly.
-
Music psychotherapy brings music into therapy as a voice when words fall short - “when words fail, music speaks,” and sometimes music says it better.
-
In music psychotherapy, sessions often weave together conversation with music-based experiences. You might bring in a song that resonates with how you’re feeling, and we’ll listen together, pausing to explore the emotions, images, and memories that surface.
We may look at lyrics and name what feels significant or symbolic. Other times, we might use guided imagery and music, allowing your mind to move more freely in response to sounds or musical themes.
These experiences help deepen insight, access emotions that feel out of reach, and support a more embodied understanding of yourself.
