Online Therapy for
Anxiety, Trauma & Relationships in New Jersey
Culturally attuned virtual sessions for adults across New Jersey
Online Therapy That Fits Into Your Life in New Jersey
Between work, family, relationships, and everything else you’re responsible for, it can be surprisingly easy to keep putting yourself last.
I offer online therapy for adults across New Jersey who are dealing with anxiety, relationship challenges, cultural identity, family expectations, or a season of life that feels harder than expected.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on before reaching out. We can start with what’s been taking up the most space lately.
And because sessions are fully virtual, therapy doesn’t have to mean another commute, another drive across town, or another thing to squeeze into an already full day.
How do I know that Online Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma & Relationships is right for me?
Does this feel familiar?
You’re the person everyone relies on, but asking for help yourself feels uncomfortable
You overthink conversations, decisions, or whether you’ve disappointed someone
You tend to prioritize other people’s needs and lose track of your own
Setting boundaries brings up guilt, even when you know they’re needed
You notice yourself people-pleasing or avoiding conflict to keep the peace
You understand where some of these patterns come from, but still feel stuck repeating them
What if together, we can:
Understand the patterns underneath anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing
Practice setting boundaries without carrying so much guilt afterward
Get clearer on what you want, not just what others expect from you
Build more trust in your own feelings and decisions
Learn to ask for support without feeling weak, needy, or like a burden
Create relationships where you can feel connected without always being the responsible one
Hi, I’m Mandy,
your Anxiety, Trauma & Relationship Therapist in New Jersey
I’m Mandy Lam, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, and board-certified music therapist offering virtual therapy across New Jersey and New York.
I was born in Hong Kong, raised in Canada, and later moved to the U.S. As an immigrant and former international student, I know how much culture, family expectations, identity, and belonging can shape the way we see ourselves and move through relationships.
That perspective is part of how I work with AAPI, immigrant, and bicultural adults, but I’ll never assume your experience looks like mine. I want to understand your story, the patterns that have shaped you, and what feels hardest right now.
I support adults navigating anxiety and overthinking, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Depending on what you need, our work may include EMDR, IFS, somatic awareness, talk therapy, and music therapy.
Sessions are available in English and Cantonese, with conversational Mandarin when helpful.

How I Approach Online Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma & Relationships
in New Jersey
You might know where a pattern came from, recognize when you’re overthinking, or understand why certain relationships affect you so deeply.
But understanding something doesn’t always make it easier to change.
Therapy can help us look at what keeps happening underneath the pattern, not just explain it.
Depending on your needs, we may draw from:
Talk therapy to explore your experiences, relationships, and recurring patterns
EMDR to process past experiences that continue to affect you in the present
IFS to understand the different parts of you that may want, fear, or need different things
Somatic awareness to notice how stress and emotion show up in your body
Music therapy when creative expression offers another way into something that is difficult to put into words
We’ll figure out together what helps you move beyond insight and into changes you can actually feel in your day-to-day life.
Who I Work With Across New Jersey
I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds, with a particular focus on:
AAPI adults looking for culturally attuned therapy
Immigrants, bicultural adults, and former international students navigating identity and belonging
High-achieving professionals balancing demanding careers with family, relationships, and responsibilities outside of work
Adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship patterns, family expectations, or major life transitions
People who are thoughtful and self-aware but still find themselves repeating patterns they understand intellectually
People interested in combining talk therapy with trauma-informed, somatic, or creative approaches
If some of this feels familiar, we can start there and make sense of the rest together.

“My experience working with Mandy has been an exceptional journey grounded in self-reflection and realization. My original intent starting therapy was to better manage my anxiety and OCD tendencies, but I've gained way more through our time together unpacking and processing many things from my childhood that impact me now as an adult"

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“Mandy has been such a helpful constant in my life”
"Mandy has been such a helpful constant in my life, aiding me in processing big life changes like leaving a job I was unhappy with and planning a wedding. I learned how to dig beneath the surface and figure out what was really going on with my emotions and deal with them accordingly. goes here. Some of the most meaningful work we did together was being able to peel away the layers and name what it is I'm feeling. Mandy also was supportive in helping me figure out ways I can show up most authentically as myself.”

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“Our sessions reassured me that I was in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where I could speak freely.”
Before seeing Mandy, I had never been to therapy and was very unsure if it was the right choice for me. However, our sessions reassured me that I was in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where I could speak freely. Her willingness to give me the space to fully express my thoughts and feelings, combined with her clear and objective third-party insights, helped me view my concerns in new ways and encouraged accountability in how I respond to them moving forward.
